1951 - USS Cusk Year by Year
History
In 1951, the Cusk continued making history with
many missile launches as CDR Charles B. Momsen, Jr. assumed command of the Cusk
from Fred B. Tucker. Missile launching and tracking technology continued
to improve as the Cusk successfully launched her 77th missile and then submerged
to guide it to its target.

JATO pack and skid falls back into the Pacific as the
missile continues its flight. At the same time, the Cusk submerges
to continue tracking and controlling the missile. |
